Greenbelt 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen…it is nearly August 2010 and this blog has become a part of our history as newer, better, faster ways of communicating have come to pass.  However, I am sure there are some people who still check every now and again to see if anything is going on in here.  Well…just in case I thought it might be nice to post a little blog about this year and GB2010.  I think there are some of our gang going and thought it might be good to share and encourage a mass meet up, eg will oxford be in attendance, leeds, york, cardiff, quaint little village vicar folk, australia, london, the far south side massive as well as our european friends.  I hope to see friends at the festival, if not soon.  Nick and Paul and I are playing some records together, Mike B and Carl are also heavily involved in making peoples ear drums vibrate with the sounds of music.  There is some good music happening on the main stage and some good speakers too.  Post a reply if you coming if you see this!

Heads up!!

My fellow Cardiffians and Gracelanders,

I come in peace. I am about to board a large shiny aluminium tube and go sailing through the air for hours on end whilst staring out the window until I arrive in that fabled Land of Sing-Song and Brain’s Dark. Whenceforth I shall be descending upon Greenbelt for a bit of a knees up and whatever else happens at one of your fabulous Christian arts and music festivals. Yes all the way from Wonderful Windang (which is a bit like Treco Bay, only 100 times better, and with the added benefit of sun… and surf) via Korea to Wales and Greenbelt – the last bit in the back of Ed’s car.

Looking forward to catching up with The Lost of Lost in Graceland and flying an Aussie flag on the green and pleasant fields of Cheltenham Racecourse.

Oh and singing the odd hymn in the beer tent!

Rob!

PS (my wife Gail has decided that staying with relatives and catching up with the gossip and news and a warm soft bed at night is somehow more preferable than sharing a sleeping bag and a tent with me! and a field full of strange and wonderful people!!)

If you are going to Greenbelt this year, why not pop to underground of an evening.  Smudge some neon paint on your face, wrap your wrists in glowing bracelets and throw shapes with the kids.  With a live robot dancer (terms and conditions apply, all information is correct at the time of press), visuals that will bring tears to your eyes and music that will make your nose bleed.  This is potentially the night for you! (unless you are not really one for dance music in which case it’s going to be quite nice in the wine bar)
